This helmet was worn by Gagarin during his first flight into space.

The helmet was originally white. When Gagarin and the understudies were taken in a bus to the launch, someone noticed that there was no country affiliation anywhere - neither on the spacesuit nor on the helmet.

But a way out was found: someone had a brush and red paint and the USSR inscription was made right on Gagarin's helmet on the bus.
