Bellis perennis, the daisy, is a common European species of the family Asteraceae, often considered the archetypal species of that name. To distinguish this species from other "daisies" it is sometimes qualified as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy. This plant likes sun with afternoon shade, prefers cool temperatures, as well as cool, moist, fertile soil. This plant declines with summer heat and is not drought tolerant. This plants seasons are spring to early summer with sporadic flowering till frost.
