A trap is a sealed container that allowed Ghostbusters to transport spirits to the Content Unit, where they were released into the grid. It is unclear what happens to the trap once placed inside the grid, although some suggest that when a captured ghost is placed in the Content Unit, the entity is pumped out of the trap cartridge so that it can be used again.
