Perhaps the strangest fighter in the Rebel Alliance fleet, the B-wing fighter is as powerful as it is clumsy. The ship's design is almost entirely taken up by its basic aerodynamic profile, with a cylindrical cockpit at one end, an engine block in the center, and a heavy weapons nacelle at its base. Directly below the engine block is a pair of S-shaped wings that can unfold to extend the arc of fire of the twin laser cannons. The B-wing command pod has a unique gyroscopic control system. The pilot can orient it so that it always stays level with the skyline. Regardless of how the B-wing can maneuver laterally, its pilot remains upright.
